Maanen and his group, total 13 persons from Holland, took an exploration
tour in Southeastern Yunnan, they started from Kunming, first all the
way in the east to Luoping via Stone Forest, then turned into south,
along border of Yunnan to the quite remote corner which is connected
with Vietnam, finally back in north, via Yuanyang and Honghe areas,
returned Kunming. It's a pretty long trip, 12 days was spent on the way,
and the route was quite unbeaten, we visited many local ethnic markets,
where people were still very simple and shy. Sometimes weather's very
nasty, sometimes roads were very mountainous and zigzag, sometimes
restaurant was very simple and accommodation was so basic...but group
members were in high spirit all the way, as pioneers, they surely knew,
those were parts of their adventure! |
